Check it Out

The days are getting shorter, the air is crisper, and the trees are revealing colors they’ve hidden all year. The electricity of autumn is finally buzzing as Indian summer begins to dwindle. Although it’s been beautiful, I’m ready to see the season’s changes (for real this time) and immerse myself in a bevy of thick knits with a maple pecan latte in hand.

“If a year was tucked inside a clock, then autumn would be the magic hour” – Victoria Erikson

I’ve been sneaking in new autumn things any chance I can get. This week in the evenings when the cool bay air comes breezing in, I’ve been wardrobe swapping. Like the grown-up equivalent of back-to-school notebooks and stationery, there is something so seasonably right about gingham and checkered everything. These trousers are my current favorites. Since they are pretty lightweight, I slipped them on last night with booties, a silk tank, a sweater to layer, and my newest vintage score, this darling patent top handle bag.

I’m a lover of morning coffee runs and midday walk breaks. It’s my way of clearing my head, collecting inspiration, and getting a little exercise. I especially love my outing this time of year with all of the decadent, festive flare and blooming green and yellow leaves. Also, running into this beautifulllll Porsche is always a lovely treat. I honestly don’t think you could be any cooler driving this thing with the windows down, decked in checkered threads, playing Frank Sinatra on a crisp autumn day. I mean, come on.
