It is long overdue that I put this post together and share a glimpse into our room! For the first time in my adult life (because, let’s be real my Laura Ashley getup and canopy bed was quite nice back in the day) I am smitten with how this room has taken shape. We basically started from scratch for this space since moving (besides our long-loved burl nightstands and plaster lamps) and I couldn’t be more excited about the new additions which also will stand the test of time in our home. That’s how I view collecting and investing—pieces that are versatile with beautiful attention to detail and quality—that can be utilized in many other ways down the road.
Over the years of deepening my design perspective, I’ve come to learn that nothing inspires my home style more than European holidays. Each trip we’ve taken has opened my eyes to so many new ideas. The way I feel while abroad and surrounded by meticulous detail has massively impacted my home. I wanted our room to evoke that kind of vibe—on a trip somewhere dreamy—and we did just that. It feels like an escape anytime we spend time in here, which is just the best feeling. The warm and calming tones, the earthy textures, the lush linen textiles, the beaming light we get and a view of our olive tree… it is heaven.
So without further ado, the new pieces that have made our uber cozy and calming sanctuary… all from the loveliest home goods shop, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams. So in love with their unique selection and honored to be working with them to help spread the word about their beautiful brand. Everything is absolutely gorgeous and such incredible quality. I can’t say enough good things and will forever more be a fan and consumer of theirs…
Our linen arch bed — You know my love of a good arch! Someday I hope to have arch doorways so for now, I’m bringing in that charm in a different way. I was between this ribbed style or the flat, and decided to add more visual interest and texture since I love to keep our room simple/neutral for the most part. Also, having a bed vs just a headboard is so so nice.
Woven raffia dresser — I have always been drawn to the light textured dressers but had never come across one that is as striking as this beauty. Those brass drawer pulls too are so fun! The dresser also comes with nickel pulls in case you ever want to change things up… love looking at hardware as jewelry, so loved this touch.
70’s inspired skirted swivel chair — This chair is such a gem… the shape, the skirt… it is an absolute dream chair and I will forever cherish it in our home.
