Accents that make vignettes around your home sing…

Rattan, Wicker, Cane

There’s something about a beautifully woven accent that just looks and feels so charming. I’m often asked about our woven bench, which we got a handful of years ago at Rejuvenation–– it’s sadly no longer available, but I finally found super similar options (at a fraction of the cost!) that inspired me to write this post! Some of my favorite mainstay accents are woven, so I rounded up a handful of beautiful options at the bottom of this post.

Also, my new sconces arrived! These were on my radar for a couple of years now and we finally decided to go for it. Since we didn’t want to do much on the walls of our bedroom, these make for the perfect statement. They are like little pieces of art!

My one rule of thumb with rattan, wicker, and cane is to make sure they feel balanced when you style them. Too much rattan in an area of your home can lead to a space looking more bohemian (which is great if that’s what you’re going for!). I like to mix antiques/vintage-inspired pieces with modern/contemporary pieces to give it a clean look. The old with new look also adds dimension, personality, and charm.

Good Lighting

Another accent around our home we have invested in is beautiful lighting. I finally found the coolie shades I had been looking for forever! I can’t get enough of them… I got two for lamps we already had and they look so good! Lamps are my secret weapon to instantly make a room feel cozier. I usually forgo overhead lighting because I love the vibes of low, warm lighting in the evening. I think I am going to do a lamp roundup soon since I have found so many pretty options lately…

Crystal and Ceramics

I am a sucker for beautiful crystal and ceramic pieces. In the form of glassware, jewelry dishes, vases… they are all over our home and do a lot of the work in the charm department. A few faves as of late…

Plants, Flowers, Fresh Fruit

Small ways to add some charm throughout your home: palm leaves, a pretty from-the-garden bouquet, a house plant, or a bowl of fresh fruit. A little life and greenery make such a big difference! We have a birds of paradise and a monstera plant which are amazing… so easy to care for, I water them both once a week. I also like to buy palm leaves from the flower shop because they make such a statement and last for weeks! A few bowls and fruit stands I’ve come across recently and loved…

A handful more of pretty home accents below and I added a bunch more to my “Apartment List” board on Pinterest today, too! xx

I tried to leave a comment in real time after I read this offensive post. “Coolie shades?!” Are you kidding me? I used to check into this blog once in a while but started noticing how white-leaning it was and that term stopped me in my tracks. And yet there is no one else chiming so I must try to once again. Crimey.
