A month or so late to the party, but Fall (practically winter) is officially upon us! I’m looking forward to adventures on our agenda this month. Especially our road trip in a couple of weeks to LA on our way to Arizona for Thanksgiving! I used to road trip all the time when I was younger, so I’m already plotting playlists and snacks weeks in advance. This month always evokes such warm and fuzzy vibes… and feasts, lots of feasts. Matt got home yesterday morning from his trip, and we walked to pick up hot apple ciders to-go and took a neighborhood stroll with Scout. Layered in sweaters and crunching through leaves, it was perfect. Hello, November!
crisp and sweet like an apple
sweater weather in full force
family and friends reuniting
festive celebrations
romantic candlelight
bubble baths
bundled up in blankets
nights by the fire
handwritten notes
champagne and turkey
I mentioned on Instagram stories yesterday how I was thinking about back when I created my blog and I realized something. Somewhere over the past couple of years, my love for poetry, good books, and quotes have gone missing from my content. They used to play a prominent role on BoC and helped motivate and inspire me throughout my early twenties. I’m not sure if this has come up before, but my parents split up right before I graduated high school. It was a little messy and impacted me and my siblings quite a bit. The first couple of years were tough, especially being in school so far away from everyone.
After school, I moved to San Francisco when I was 21 and was supporting myself, working, and trying to start my life over fresh. That’s when I decided to start blogging again, I needed something to inspire me and make me happy. Reading, collecting inspiration and quotes, writing my blog, really helped me grow and get through tough times. It kept me going and gave me confidence, hope, and aspiration. Words and expression are a powerful thing!
Many early posts talked about maintaining a positive mindset, inspiring articles and books, and an overall cheery narrative about life. It was so pure and sweet, and I miss that. So, we’re reviving that piece of BoC, because it still gives me all the feels, I just forgot how much. Everyone needs some of that in their life. I’m excited to start sharing my favorite quotes with you and work on my own writing a bit more like I used to. I have been adding them to posts to help bring my content even more to life, and I hope you like it. Style, travel, and affirmations. I got you. 🙂
