It was a long time coming to make my way over to Bodega, a wine bar in North Beach that opened earlier this year. My girlfriend (who runs their social media) is friends with the owners and has been telling me how much I’d love it for months. The results were in upon stepping foot in the door…she gets me. Everything was an absolute hit in my book. The charming ambiance, the wine, the food. Oh, the food! It quickly catapulted to the top of my list of best places to catch up with friends or a date night with Matt.
It’s located on Columbus Ave. (a block or two from Washington Square Park), nestled on a cozy corner. North Beach (in my opinion) has needed something like this to get me to visit more, and I finally have a reason. I highly recommend stopping by if you’re a local, or are planning a trip to San Francisco soon! A peek inside and my favorite dishes (thus far)…
Persian cheese plate with feta, Persian herbs, pita, tomatoes, and cucumbers. So simple and delicious.
Sweet potato tacos with crema, cabbage, feta, furikake.
Halibut ceviche with jalapeno, cucumber, and lime. We also got the Carnitas Tacos (not pictured because I couldn’t be bothered/needed them in my mouth) with pork shoulder, onion, cilantro. SO GOOD–SO GOOD.
