Visual Diary: Meadowood, Napa Valley

Meadowood is one of the most beautiful resorts we’ve ever stayed. For me, quaint and charming (and a fireplace) is exactly what I hope for in a romantic escape.

Bring on all the cozy cottage feels. Upon arrival, we were greeted in the lobby with hot cider, warm cookies, and a fireplace with stacked logs. Quite the warm welcome! We stayed in a tree line suite with beautiful views from our deck. An endless sight of the lush and verdant landscape made it easy to relax and settle in for the weekend. We turned on the fire, poured a glass of wine, and marveled over this pretty place.

I always love Napa in the winter. Even though it’s quite crisp, their offseason is always quieter than usual. Also, cue the fireplace and the hotel slippers! There’s nothing better than waking up with a piping hot coffee, wrapping yourself in a big blanket, and enjoying a setting like this… there’s just something magical about wine country this time of year.

On Saturday morning we ordered breakfast in bed and enjoyed the last hour before having to check out. Before visiting a winery close by, we were lucky enough to experience the Meadowood Spa. Oh my goodness. This place is what spa dreams are made of!  Seriously the most stunning, decadent, and relaxing experience to date. I need to get massages more… I think at this point, I’ve had under ten in my life. It was such a treat to wake up, order room service and spend a couple of hours in such a beautiful place (and I had the best massage. ever.) Quite a send off to ease us into relax mode at Peju…

We soaked up the sun (which made it warm enough to sit outside) and enjoyed a glass of wine. It’s Matt’s favorite winery of all time, so we left with a couple bottles and headed home (gotta stock up for winter, ya know?). It was SUCH a wonderful weekend, we needed it. So thankful to have had quality time with Matt and take a little break from the normal routine. Feeling so refreshed and ready for the holidays…

  1. So gorgeous. I’ve never stayed there but friends had a wedding there and I saw the rooms and we played croquet on the lawn. It’s on my wishlist!

  2. Is it bad that my reaction to these beautiful photos is: damn I need a celine bag, a romantic getaway (someone to go on the getaway with) and a nap?! hahah

    1. Haha! So many thoughts. 🙂 Céline was a present to myself for a monumental moment this year and the best gift I’ve given myself, so worth it! I know, looking at the photos again actually make me want to take a nap too… it’s so cozy there!

  3. We’ve spent Thanksgiving in Napa 3 of the past 5 years. I agree it’s one of my favorite times to visit!
