My Current am/pm Skincare Routine

It’s been a while since I shared an updated am/pm routine (the last was my skincare ritual leading up to my wedding!), so I’m excited to play catch up. Everyone tells you not to fuss with your skincare regimen leading up to your big day, so I held off on trying new things, which is something I usually like to do quite regularly. After the wedding though, I had researched a bevy of beauty products I wanted to try and my friends at Net-a-Porter sent me a handful of things, too. They have such an amazing beauty selection, by the way! They introduced me to Joanna Vargas, which has become an absolute favorite… which I will dive into deeper below.

After a few weeks of trying out new things and getting a regimen in place… my skin has been so happy! Which is not a common statement I throw out there in the thick of winter. My complexion tends to run thirsty this time of year, leaving me with dull, dry areas every so often. I have been doing this routine for the past couple of months now, though, and am just so in love with each and every product. I haven’t noticed my skin looking or feeling dry once this winter.

I don’t necessarily do every single step each day, but it definitely doesn’t hurt to go all in!

am

1 | Fresh Soy Face Cleanser

This has been a favorite for a very long time now! I do like to switch up my face washes every few months, but this one I always come back to. Love how squeaky clean it makes my skin feel… it never dries it out either, which is key this time of year. In the morning, I just do a tiny bit to freshen my skin before adding products. In case you’re interested, I shared more face wash favorites in this post.

2 | M-61 Hydraboost HA Gel Moisturizer

I just got this a month or so ago and am absolutely loving. I have become such a big fan of this brand… it was created by the owners of bluemercury! I first fell in love with their peel pads (linked in the pm routine below), but am equally hooked on this product. it moisturizes and smoothes my skin and is super lightweight/not at all oily.

3 | SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic

Obsessed with this stuff! It’s a little pricey, but a little goes a very long way. “It helps defend environmental aging, builds collagen, delivers maximum antioxidant protection, and uncovers more youthful-looking skin.”

4 | SkinCeuticals Sheer Sunscreen

I absolutely love this stuff. Super lightweight and gives the perfect amount of moisture to my skin before applying makeup. Can you tell I’m on a big Skinceuticals kick?

pm

1 | Fresh Soy Face Cleanser

I even have Matt hooked on this face wash! I like to use a Clarisonic in the evening to really wash away the day.

2 | M-61 PowerGlow Peel or Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Extra Strength Peel Pads)

I love both of these peel pad wipes, but I think I prefer the M-61 more. I love how it’s 1 step instead of 2, as I didn’t see much of an impact of the second step with Dr. Dennis. I don’t do these religiously (however, I did before my wedding!) since that would be a pricey habit, but I do like to buy them every other month or so to help smooth my skin!

3 | Skinceuticals Conditioning Toner or La Prairie Essense-in-Lotion

I sometimes do this step in the morning, too, but mainly in the evening to kick off my many layers of moisture. Love both of these toners so much… so gentle yet effective. SkinCeuticals is more of a liquid so needs a cotton swap, while La Prairie more of a serum. La Prairie, in general, is always a higher pricepoint… by far the most expensive beauty brand of my top favorites, but every single product I have tried has worked wonders for me. It’s always worth a splurge every so often!

4 | Joanna Vargas Supernova Retinol Serum

A MUST! Joanna Vargas was a new discovery for me earlier this fall and I am head over heels for her products. This serum has become a mainstay essential for me. I think it has a huge impact on my skin these days, the softest and even my skin has been in ages. I also use her eye cream within this step!

5 | Dr. Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Serum

Okay, I am officially a part of the Dr. Barbara Sturm cult. This is my first product and I’m so into it. Quite an investment (I was able to snag it when there was a holiday sale and used a leftover gift card for a good chunk of it) but totally worth it. A little bit goes a long way with this one, too. I can confirm it does “diminish the appearance of imperfections and wrinkles for a firmer, more radiant-looking complexion”!

6 | SkinCeuticals Renew Overnight Dry Lotion

This is my new go-to every single fall/winter. It’s my first time using it (the past two months), and my skin has not felt dry once (even in Tahoe!), which is unheard of for me this time of year. Such a fan.

7 | Thomas Grove Oil Facial Oil

A friend of mine recently launched her new brand, Thomas Grove, and sent me this face oil to try and I’m loving it! The perfect end of routine oil to lock in all the layers of moisture and work magic while I sleep. It also smells amazing. So excited for her and am such a fan of this product!

All the while, Matt washed his face, brushed his teeth, and is basically asleep once I complete step 8 (brushing my teeth)…

face masks

I want to really treat myself, I use this mask (and mix in baking soda)

I want zero pores and airbrushed looking skin, I use this mask.

I want my skin to look and feel like a baby’s butt, I use this mask.

I want that extra squeaky clean feeling, I use this mask.

I feel like a cooling mask that leads to a glowy complexion, I use this one.

I want an overnight sleep mask… this one is very pricy, but solid GOLD… and a little goes a long way.
