A convo with my friends at Net-A-Porter chatting about how we’re spending the holidays at home this year. It has been such a blast working with their team the past year or so, and I am so looking forward to more fun in 2021. Stay tuned! xx
What’s your favorite holiday tradition?
I love our Christmas morning ritual—coffee, a big breakfast, usually bellinis but will be trading those in for Martinelli’s this year, and then we gather around the tree and take our time opening gifts. We used to put yule log on the tv, but we have a fireplace in our new house, so that will be happening this year!
When I was little my siblings and I would wake up at 4 am and impatiently wait until an “appropriate” hour to wake our parents (6 on le dot) but loving our much more relaxed, slower paced day—more time to enjoy and soak it all up. I will enjoy this while I can, I have a little one on the way, so I expect my future to revert back to old ways at some point.
How will you be making your home cozier during this time?
We just moved into our new home right before Thanksgiving and have lots to fill in, but having our tree, garland and twinkle lights has really made our new home feel ultra cozy. I also like dim lighting to let the tree shine, winter scented candles, and our Bing Crosby ‘White Christmas’ vinyl on in the background.
What will you be wearing to make it special?
A fancy silk PJ set — love this one by La Perla! Feels very nostalgic and festive.
What’s your go to holiday recipe?
On Christmas morning, my grandma used to make us breakfast and I am bringing that back this year while my husband and I celebrate Christmas on our own. Toast topped with a chopped hard boiled egg, crispy bacon flakes, and gravy on top! It’s so good.
How will you connect with family and friends over this time?
Lots of FaceTime calls the next week or so leading up to New Years to see everyones faces! I was really starting to get emotional about how much I’m missing gatherings earlier this winter, I’m craving catch ups quite a lot! I will never take in-person get togethers and holidays spent with family for granted in the future.
What’s on your Net-A-Porter wishlist?
A quick visit to my account wish list got the wheels turning… some favorites as of late that I’d love Santa to swoop up for me…

A fun new wallet, a classic Polaroid camera (for sweet instant memories to hold on to once the baby arrives), Gucci socks (because everyone deserves a pair of fancy socks), and a cute book on how to make the most of your daily life. I love MR.PORTER for gifts that Matt wouldn’t think to buy for himself, things that are unique and will catch him by pleasant surprise!
