Visual Diary: Hotel Les Mars, Healdsburg

We booked a weekend at Hotel Les Mars a few months back, while on our last trip to Healdsburg. We had dinner at their restaurant, Chalkboard, and I immediately fell in love with the French charm repleting the property. The romantic and dramatic vibes upon walking through the limestone facade will sell you as well. It’s truly a little slice of Paris. This pretty French mansion has 16-rooms and is equipped with floor to ceiling windows, crown molding, chandeliers hung throughout, 17th- and 18th-century antiques, leather-bound books (seriously), a complimentary French breakfast, and warm, inviting fireplaces. I couldn’t believe the meticulous attention to detail, it is truly a gem–one of the most beautiful places we’ve stayed! It sits on a corner of the beautiful Healdsburg Plaza (super convenient location), right next door to The Shed.

We had this trip booked before the horrible wildfires took over thousands and thousands of miles of land this fall. Healdsburg got very lucky and not much harm was done. I’ve been up to wine country twice since, and it’s clear to me that businesses need our support. It just seems a little more quiet than usual up there. Make sure you continue to make weekend trips up and don’t let the fires stop you from booking. Healdsburg is open for business!

Here’s a little glimpse into the magic that is Hotel Les Mars

We popped into Healdsburg SHED next door and found a few souvenirs to bring home. We got a terracotta canister for our cooking utensils, a new coffee table book, candlesticks with new glass candlestick holders, and a tortoiseshell kitchen resting spoon. Walking into Healdsburg Shed is like walking into Target. But way better!
