My take on resort style

I love packing for a sunny poolside escape or something further flung to hang beachside. Maybe it’s having more wiggle room to overpack (incapable of not overpacking), but I think the true reason is how fun and versatile this kind of spring and summer getup can be. I really enjoy feeling like I’m in some Slim Aarons shoot—a bit of class and a bit of sass. (I’ll see myself out).

I always am drawn to a few different things that I end up living in and mixing and matching. Swimsuits with support — for one pieces, I can’t do the low back, it needs to have a great fabric and a bra-strap height back so that the ladies have some support! Matteau and Eres are my go-tos.

When it comes to bikinis, I am a diehard underwire / balconette fan—favorites to shop for this is Monday Swimwear and Fisch Swim. Eres is worth every penny because their fabrics are magic and are the only tops I will wear that do not have underwire: this and this.  Love all the swim brands I mentioned because the pieces I love are always available and coming out with new colors and prints each season.

Cover wise, I always reach for linen button ups (mainly white and some stripes as well!), linen pants, crochet of all kinds (skirts, shorts, dresses, button ups), and reliable swim that makes me feel my best.

Wearing (top pictures)

Matteau swimsuit. I live for their square neck onepieces. I have mentioned so many times over the years, this is one of my most worn. I have it in a couple solid colors as well as two floral prints. I go a size up from my normal with this.

Nili Lotan cover. I shared this find over Black Friday! Who else got it and is so happy they did? The knitting is exquisite.

Jenni Kayne raffia hat. I got this last spring and was my most worn hat last year under the sun…

—Same swimsuit!

Gap linen button up. Such a beautiful piece—love how it’s a little longer so can be worn as a cover by itself. If you need a linen shirt, I can’t say enough good things about this find.

Marysia crochet skirt. In love with this beauty! You feel like some sort of 70’s goddess while wearing it. Crochet and fringe, some very important resort keywords! I have a code for Marysia, it’s ‘Ashley15’!

Saving loads more of beautiful swim and covers here—it’s an evolving list, so be sure to come back and visit if you’re in need this spring and summer x
