On My Nightstand

Matt and I are in full-blown house hunting mode! I am so excited! I want to take this time leading up to that big change to highlight some of my favorite areas of our apartment, because although I am so looking forward to eventually moving, I will always cherish this space. We loved our previous apartment when we initially moved in together, but this one has truly felt like home.

This corner (as you’ve probably collected) is a favorite! The beautiful light, the calming color palette, and how it collects some of my favorite treasures. I thought I would share details since I’m often asked when snipped are shared on stories.

Nightstands

Our burl wood nightstands were one of our first investment pieces when moving into this apartment. I adore them! Growing up, a family friend’s mom had the most gorgeous burl wood credenza, and it was always stuck in my mind. When I discovered these beauties, I had to have them.

Lamp

My alabaster lamp was a vintage find from Sotheby’s Home… such a beauty! I swapped the shade for my go-to Restoration Hardware slope shade. Since this question pops up a lot… this is size B and I like the white linen with white lining! PS friends… a little birdie told me that RH might be doing pleated shades soon! Danger.

Bits and bobs

I don’t really style my nightstand per se, it’s really more about utilizing vintage finds as storage and holding things I use regularly like hand creeam, linen spray, and CBD lotion (k I hide this one most of the time). As you know I collect (hoard) fun glassware and ash trays were what started this obsession (shout out to Orrefors!). This past spring, I found the most insane Fontana Arte ash tray (the beveled one on my coffee table) and it got me hooked on that beautiful turquoise color! I ended up finding a Sklo Union ash tray in the same color which now sits happy on my nightstand as a jewelry dish. It’s an obsession… I bought 2 more Fontana Arte ash trays a couple of months back, one is used for our keys by the entryway and the other is now my wine coaster. The sky is the limit with these charming trays! But I’m cut off now lol.

The curvy little vase is also Sklo Union, the marble pedestal tray is from Jayson Home, my coaster is an old vintage find,  and the little pressed glass dish is actually a votive holder by Tom Dixon that I use as a ring dish. I keep it somewhat simple, and usually have a stack of books inside for me to easily access in the mornings. And that’s it! In case you didn’t know, I save most of my apartment details here!

When beauty meets function. x
