travel notes:

The easiest day trip! We love going to or staying near Sonoma Square (if you are making a trip of it, check out El Dorado Hotel…we loved it there). You can grab lunch at El Dorado Kitchen (the hotel’s onsite restaurant) and then walk across the park to Pangloss Cellars (this tasting room is such a gem) for a tasting. In the spring/summer, it’s also nice to grab cheese and bread from the Cheese Factory and sit in the park. The Girl & the Fig is an absolute must for dinner! So romantic and charming.

If you’re going wine tasting, grab a sandwich from Carneros Deli (doesn’t look like anything special but their sandwiches are SO fresh and delicious) before winery appointments (or bring if the winery approves of bringing in food). Obviously, Scribe is very loved and always an amazing time. We also love Ram’s Gate and BR. Cohn. Matt has been wanting to go to Gundlach Bundschu and has heard great things, so I added it to the list.

I always tell people… I know Carneros is major pricey, but if you are celebrating a very special occasion (like a honeymoon) it’s 100% worth it. It is hands down the best hotel we’ve ever experienced.
