Wedding Skincare Prep

I can’t believe how quickly our wedding is approaching! I am ready to whip into amazing shape and take extra good care of my skin and body leading up to the big day. Here are my plans below to ensure I feel my absolute best…

H₂O all day every day

One of my main focuses over the next 5 weeks is to drink my body weight in water every day. The easiest way to give your skin TLC… which sounds easy, but I am actually pretty bad about drinking the proper amount regularly. So this is one of my top goals.

Masks and peels

I swear by face masks and peels for instant gratification. I do them weekly and whenever I am wanting to give my skin a deep cleanse and look glowy. A handful of my favorites that I will continue to use this next month are Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Extra Strength Daily Peel, M61 Power Glow Peels, Biologique Recherche Masque Vivant (loving this so far! If you’re a local, I heard they sell at Spa Radiance), Drunk Elephant Babyfacial, and Malin + Goetz Detox Face Mask.r

Refa Clear

I just got this face cleaning brush and I am obsessed. I had a Clarisonic for many years now, but it was time for an upgrade. Absolutely love it, I will include a link here with details on the tool and its benefits!

Refa Carat

Taking face rolling to the next level with this thing! It is incredible. It’s a waterproof roller that deeply kneads the curves of your face to help visibly stimulate, revive, and tighten tired, stressed skin. Highly, highly recommend!

Dry Brush

I try to use my dry brush before 90% of the showers/baths I hop into. First of all, it feels so good… I wasn’t sure at first, but once you get used to it… it is a little luxury. A few of the benefits include cellulite appearance reduction, smoother glowing skin, improves blood circulation, shed dead skin, eliminates clogged pores for better nutrients absorbing. My skin feels so much softer after using it… I’m sold on it.

Moisturize

As for moisturizing, I am going above and beyond this next month. SPF, less makeup on my skin during the week, lotions and oils layered before bed, hydrating spritzes (have been obsessed with Elemis Superfood Kefir-Tea Mist lately)… I shared a lot more of my favorite products in this post.

Botox

I’ve never talked about botox on here… but here we areeee. Real talk. I am 31 and I have gone 3 times since I turned 28. Honestly, I don’t have a ton of wrinkles that I notice or bother me, but I do have 2 major frown lines between my eyebrows that have gotten worse over the years. A combination of squinting in the sun and bad vision has led one of the lines to be visible even when I have a straight face. It was really starting to bother me and bring me back to high school days when I felt insecure about my skin. Not having that again!

I decided to try and be proactive while I can so it doesn’t continue to get worse. I have gone 2 times in the past year and notice such a difference. I plan to get it 2-3x a year going forward.

I *love* the woman I go to… her name is Marina and she is at City Skin & Laser on Maiden Lane. She is the best… she told me that she will turn people down for treatments if she thinks they don’t need them/it won’t look natural, so I have trusted her from the beginning, and each time, my skin looks amazing. If you have any questions about it, feel free to email me! I was super nervous at first, but it’s easy. Also, in case you do go, let them know I referred you! I think we each get a slight discount of $ off for treatment if you do.

And that’s what my skin has been up to lately!
