Weekend Moments 1.16.17

Happy Monday! Although it’s a holiday, as promised, I’m keeping up with weekend notes. This one was perfect to highlight. Matt’s currently en route to Switzerland all week for work, so we spent each day balancing relaxation and adventure. I felt like I hadn’t seen the sun in weeks, so having clear skies felt especially wonderful. Still effing brisk, but no rain, so no complaints!

Friday we had a pizza and wine night in (standard) and woke up rested for a day trip to Marin. We made reservations for lunch at Farmshop, one of our top ten favorites in the bay. It is just so good, if you’re a local and have yet to visit – go go go! Not only is the food fantastic, but every inch of that place is photogenic (for my fellow Insta addicts).

We sat on the patio in the sun and since there was no wind, I felt almost too warm in my sweater, and I loved every second of it. Vitamin D, my pale skin needs you! Alfresco in January had me quite content– it was the most beautiful day. After lunch and browsing a few shops, we headed home and took Scout on a long walk along the water. I live for these days. It’s the simple things that make me so, so happy.

Sunday was well-needed, too. Slept in, made cast iron eggs (our new obsession/I won’t have eggs any other way now!), went for a walk to Palace of Fine Arts, and came home for lunch and to help Matt pack. I’ll miss that guy so much this week (sep anx is real), but one of my best friends is coming to stay with me for the week so it will be fun to catch up and introduce her to some of my favorite haunts. She’s one of those friends who is such a great creative influence on me, which is so refreshing. We’re ’bout to get crafty up in here. AND since she comes bearing camera…you’ll be seeing some outfit posts soon.

Anyway, I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Happy MLK day!
