Editor’s Note, 10.20

This month is such a magical one in the city—Indian summer’s kiss farewell.

I have been enjoying the crisp morning air and warm sun-soaked afternoons… we can’t quite dress for autumn, but we can feel it. The past couple of weeks, I have been a bit overwhelmed with life and all that continues to transpire in our world, as I am sure you can relate. It’s been a wild season. I know that there’s going to be a bit of stress leading up to November, but I am going to do all that I can to focus on the beautiful things that October has to offer! Mindset is everything.

One of my best friends sent me this quote when I was having a bad day last weekend and I wanted to share it because it’s so true—

The goal is to grow so strong on the inside that nothing on the outside can affect your inner wellness without your conscious permission.

This means putting our well-being first! Nurture your mind and be thoughtful about what you consume, spark joy with rituals that give you life, and make sure you’re focusing on the little things too like drinking plenty of water and getting enough sleep! As I said last week, this season shift brings such a powerful and contagious energy of excitement and new beginnings, so let’s run with it!

October Agenda

As you’ve collected, we are in Palm Springs for a few days to hang with my little sister and her boyfriend who drove up from LA. It’s our first time meeting him and we’re very excited! This trip couldn’t have come at a better time, I am needing some family time and a couple of pools days and BBQs!

Matt and I were supposed to go to our family friend’s home in Los Carneros again on Monday (we had to reschedule last month with the wildfires) but are playing it by ear since the new fires this past weekend. So sad for wine country and the terror these fires have caused for so many. NOW is the time to support your favorite businesses there. Stock up on wine for fall from your go-to wineries, etc. as the last couple of years and these last few months have really affected the community up there. Sharing my wine journal here with a bunch of my favorites…

We have one more trip of 2020 mid-month that I will keep a secret for now, but will obviously be taking you with us. SO excited for this one, I haven’t been to this destination in ages, and it’s so beautiful! I bet especially this time of year.

Last thing on the agenda? FIND A DAMN HOUSE. lol.

Inspired by

A few things off the top—fresh crisp morning air, San Francisco’s Indian summer candy-hued sunsets, fall lattes (my current go-to is Himalayan sea salt and cinnamon oat milk latte), moody tunes, dreaming up designing a house (literally every night at this point), lush intricate knits and cashmere, the stack of books on my nightstand, changing up my skincare routine, boot szn, and all the TLC I plan to give myself, family, and friends this next month.

Blog-wise! I have been working on a few fun features with brands I admire that are all popping up throughout October, which I think you’ll enjoy! Also, I started working with Net-a-Porter in Spring 2019 on a 5 month project and since, we’ve continued to extend our partnership each season. It has been the most fun—I just absolutely adore them and their team, and I am so excited to share that we’ll be kicking off our fall/winter collaboration this month! So grateful for this.

A reader told me that the author of ‘A Man Called Ove’ (one of my faves!) released a new book called ‘Anxious People‘ and said it’s amazing so far. I can’t wait to dive in… I shall report back.

Have the best month ahead friends! xx
