Everything I packed for St. Helena

Matt and I are celebrating our 4 year anniversary this week (6.28!) by heading up to our very favorite wine country resort—where we got married! Meadowood is our happy place, and we decided to bring Grace with us to share the magic with her. This will be G’s first pool experience! She’s been swimming in the past, but she definitely doesn’t remember—now that she’s a full blown human, she’s about to have her mind blown. I foresee constant joy and delight—and then the complete opposite when we say it’s time to wrap up. We are just going to enjoy the sunshine, their incredible property, and dinner at my favorite restaurant in wine county.

I thought I would share what I packed for this escape! I’ve mentioned my point of view on how to dress for summer in wine country here as well if interested in reading. Going to let you in on a little secret if you are planning to visit the area and have never been: it’s much more casual than one might think! By no means do I mean boring, but the key is effortlessness! Think slow-paced living countryside. My preferred way to do is to make sure that I am comfortable, pared back, and add something in the mix that elevates.

I usually opt for something like linen or denim shorts with a top — OR — a simple linen dress for daytime excursions. I’ll definitely add a hat if the outfit is soft-spoken teamed with simple sandals. In my eyes it’s about a balancing act. At night (pending location vibe), I do like to bring it up a few notches! A nice dress, fun heeled sandals, natural makeup (favorites in my makeup bag linked here!), and an evening layer if needed (bf blazer, denim, or leather jacket). I’ll usually bring my longtime favorite classic clutch for dinners and woven bag for daytime tasting adventures. When it comes to resort stays—my poolside style is quite simple, too! A bring a couple favorite suits (just got this and I am obsessed), a crochet relaxed-fit cover, my favorite Toteme wrap (on sale), and a boyfriend button up—for options to wear over my suit/for whatever mood I’m in. My polo hat, sunglasses, hair clip, and hair tie. All thrown in a woven bag. I’ll usually carry my Celine pouch in the tote so I can easily grab it out for quick visits to the bar to grab a snack or glass of wine.

I want to preface and say that I am utterly overpacking, I am who I am.
