Our Mini-Moon at Hotel Yountville

Our wedding festivities ended on a Saturday afternoon, so we decided to extend a few extra days to spend time in Yountville, one of our favorite areas in wine country. We love it for many reasons, but the walkable town, delicious food, and tasting rooms keep us coming back for more. We stayed at one of our favorites, Hotel Yountville, and it was the most lovely and relaxing few days.

The first time we stayed here, it wasn’t warm enough to soak up the pool, so we spent a lot of the time doing just that. We arrived on Sunday and after dropping our bags we made our way over to a cocktail tasting in a poolside cabana. Something fun they offer poolside and a great way to ease into mini-moon mode! We watched the sun begin to set, freshened up, and headed to dinner at Lucy down the street (the restaurant at Bardessono). The hotel has cars and they are available upon request to drive you anywhere in town, so we pretty much keep our car parked the entire time we’re there. Dinner was amazing, per usual––always the best experience at Lucy. The chilled corn soup was one of the best soups I’ve ever had!

The next day we spent the morning and early afternoon laying in the sun and ordering lunch by the pool. Honestly, I just loved being poolside! I don’t get to do it often, so when I have the opportunity, it feels like such a luxury. A little rosé, light music in the background, the scent of SPF… Monday never looked better. It is so peaceful here, like a little retreat surrounded by so much nature and beauty. After a good sun soak, we took the hotel bicycles around town and visited a couple of go-to tasting rooms: Hope & Grace and Stewart Cellars and then headed back to Hotel Yountville to hang a bit more before our next dinner reservation at Bottega (heaven). Another must while in town!

If you’re planning a trip in the future, Hotel Yountville is such a gem. Their rooms are so charming and cozy––and the beds are the most comfortable ever. The property repletes greenery and beautiful blooming flowers everywhere. You must order their cheese plate and a glass of wine upon arrival, sitting on the balcony after checking in was the best way to start our extended weekend. The food here is always delicious! And their spa is definitely something to note, too. Here are a few snaps from our time spent there a few weeks back as newlyweds… xx
